Research Core Facility
福利视频 has opened a newly designed biomedical research technology core facility, available to internal investigators and external collaborators. Morehouse School of Medicine鈥檚 facility renovations were sponsored by a $10 million grant investment from the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities, part of the National Institutes of Health. The newly renovated state-of-the-art research facility continues a master plan to improve 福利视频鈥檚 research infrastructure.
The new design allows 福利视频 to optimize its use of space for equipment, drives cross-disciplinary scientific exchange, and promotes a collaborative environment.
The open core concept allows:
- Improved access to research resources Researchers can now access shared use equipment 24 hours a day, 7 seven days a week, 365 days a year.
-
Enhanced core efficiencies
A centralized location of core labs
New and updated equipment
脴 Increased freezer storage capacity
脴 Increased work bench space
脴 A New Biological Manipulation Core
脴 Online access, data collection, andbilling through iLabs, a newly implemented lab management software
-
Student training
The new facility provides amble research-focused training tools, essential to the success of educational programs.
Currently, there are five "umbrella" cores that encompass multiple labs with similar technologies:
